Counties of Tennessee

Tennessee, often called the Volunteer State, is a culturally rich and diverse state located in the southeastern region of the United States. Bordered by Kentucky to the north, Virginia to the northeast, North Carolina to the east, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi to the south, and Arkansas and Missouri to the west, Tennessee is known for its scenic beauty, rich musical heritage, and vibrant culture.

One of Tennessee's most iconic features is the Great Smoky Mountains, part of the Appalachian Mountains, which stretch along the state's eastern border. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, shared with North Carolina, is the most visited national park in the United States, which offers hiking, camping, wildlife viewing opportunities, and scenic drives amidst its lush forests, cascading waterfalls, and stunning mountain vistas.

Tennessee is also famous for its vibrant music scene, with Nashville, the state capital, known as the "Music City" and considered the country music capital of the world. Visitors to Nashville can explore historic attractions such as the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, and Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, as well as enjoy live music performances at honky-tonks and music venues along Broadway.

Memphis, located in the southwestern part of the state, is renowned for its rich musical heritage, particularly in blues and rock 'n' roll. Visitors can explore iconic attractions such as Beale Street, Sun Studio, and the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, as well as visit Graceland, the former home of Elvis Presley, which attracts millions of visitors each year.
